Representing Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) in 1997, the core members
of Fragnetics embarked on a 3D web project to showcase the strength of the
Viscape Engine designed by Superscape
Technologies.
In tandem with the Computer Playtime 1997 competition organized by
Temasek Polytechnic for
Secondary Schools in Singapore, the team emerged as champions, also clinching
the coveted Most Creative Award in addition to the Champions
trophy. This feat was achieved in a field of 20 finalists selected from a wide
array of Secondary Schools in Singapore, including top institutions.
With the theme of the competition being Virtual Community 2050, the teams
involved set to define how they saw Singapore would turn out in the middle of
the 21st century. This presentation, originally designed for a Pentium 200
system in the advent of 3D accelerators, has been released on the Fragnetics
website for your viewing pleasure, and also for our archival purposes of course
:)
Your browser will require the Superscape Viscape plug-in, that can be
downloaded here
to view the 3D presentation. The plug-in weighs at 4.04MB, while the entire
presentation is 1.2MB (each world being around 300KB in size).
